Saint Andrew’s is the hub of conservative, historic Anglican witness in Newton, North Carolina. It is the Chancery of Traditional Anglican Church of America (TACA).

The Parish of Saint Andrew’s has a thriving and loyal Congregation, whose members are known for their charity and dutiful witness. As with all TACA churches, they use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and practice the traditional Anglican formularies.

Its Senior Warden is Sherrill E. Watkins, Jr. Its secretary, who administrates the Chancery and Saint Andrew’s itself is Deaconess Virginia Ann Reid, who is also the Outreach Coordinator for the Diocese and is the wife of the Archbishop.

All offices and ordinals, for Morning and Evening Prayer, Holy Communion, and the Seven Sacraments are celebrated according to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer at Saint Andrew’s and are thus modeled for the rest of the Archdiocese of TACA.

Rick Aaron Reid, who is the Vicar of Saint Andrew’s Church is also the Archbishop of TACA. Consecrated a Bishop in 2015, Abp. Reid received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Theology/Theological Studies from Emmanuel Baptist University and his Doctorate in Christian Counseling from Jesus World Bible College. Having worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture for 25 years, and the Army National Guard for 10 years that included overseas service, Abp. Rick served as a Priest in the Anglican Orthodox Church, and later the Convocation of the Good Shepherd, the Traditional-Anglican Diocese that was renamed as Traditional Anglican Church, which consecrated Abp. Rick for its Episcopate in 2015.

Sharing the same 201 South Main Avenue address with Calvary Baptist Church, from whom it rents rooms for its Sanctuary and Vestry to reside, Saint Andrew’s also hosts at this location the annual springtime Synod of TACA.
