Christ thus advises pastors to count the cost before beginning a lifetime of ministry (Luke 14:28). Blind guides are cruel ushers, who do not have mercy in their hearts, but who only follow rubrics and obey laws, and who will only hurt the innocent (Matthew 23:24-28).
.
“For if that first covenant [of Aaron, the High Priest by Moses] had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second [of Melchizadek and Christ]” (Hebrews 8:7).
.
If you are only building a church that serves sinners with whom you are comfortable, then you are sadly only seeking to “labor for the food that perishes” (John 6:27).
.
