PART 4: COLLAPSE – HOMELESSNESS IS THE INFECTIOUS DISEASE OF A MARXIST-MONOPOLISTIC ECONOMY
.
Priests, Deacons, Deaconesses, Presbyters, Elders, and all ministers are trained to face the evil of cyclical intergenerational systematic poverty head on. Please note these truths:
.
According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), approximately 745,652 people experienced homelessness across the United States on a single night in January 2025. This represents a 3.3% decrease from the 2024 count of 771,480, which had marked a historic peak following consecutive post-pandemic increases.
.
The problem is systematized because it is institutional, building political and government careers upon the cultural posturing that the necessity of having an “elite” should be substantiated by its constant pontificating by its “anointed” members, that they alone understand the hardships which people other than themselves cause and/or worsen.
.
“However, even those mentally ill individuals who can be helped by medication often stop taking the medication, once they are no longer living under supervision, and retrogress to delusions and incoherence. Those who are sleeping on the streets on bitterly cold winter nights are as much mascots of the anointed [and] serve to enable the anointed to score points against a benighted society” (The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy; Thomas Sowell; Chapter 6; P. 153; NY, Basic Books, 1995).
.
National Breakdown and Shelter Total Count: 745,652 individuals counted during the winter Point-in-Time (PIT) late-January 2026 survey.
.
Sheltered Population: 479,332 people stayed in emergency shelters, safe havens, or transitional housing.
.
Unsheltered Population: 266,320 people lived in places not meant for human habitation, such as streets, tents, or cars (about 36%).
.
“Most homeless people are by no means as fortunate… in finding a judge so ready to adopt them as mascots, in order to engage in moral
preening… The thesis that the homeless are ‘people just like us’ who happen to have fallen victim to misfortune has been repeated endlessly… Homeless advocates report such requests as: We need a witness for a hearing. Can you get us a homeless family: mother, father—father out of work in the past four months from an industrial plant—white?” (ibid, Sowell; P. 152).
.
State Rates: Rates average about 22 people per 10,000 nationwide, ranging widely from roughly 4 per 10,000 in Mississippi to over 70 per 10,000 in New York and Washington, D.C.
.
Adults vs. Children: Over 80% of the unhoused population are adults, though families and older adults (ages 55 and older) continue to face high housing vulnerability.
.
Roughly 67% of people experiencing homelessness are people of color. Black and Indigenous communities experience disproportionately higher rates of unhoused status compared to their share of the general population.
.
Sheltered Veterans: 18,977 lived in emergency shelters or transitional housing.
.
Unsheltered Veterans: 13,518 lived on streets, in vehicles, or in abandoned buildings.
.
Year-Over-Year Change: A minor 1.2% decrease (387 fewer people) from the 32,882 veterans counted in 2024.
.
Proportion: Veterans account for roughly 5.3% of the total homeless adult population.
.
The Able Minister of God’s Word must counter the influence of the cold elite hearts who leave families both on the streets and in city shelters. Those deceivers meanwhile house the migrant unknown invaders in inns, as you will see in PART 5 of Societal Collapse, when you click NEXT.
