All the education and sacraments that should beautifully sculpt the incumbency of your ordination and ecclesia could instead build only a scaffolded failure. A ruin–in a man’s becoming a confused Priest, who occupies a doomed church–has happened often. Without shrewd Agape guidance over your formative choices, catastrophe is risked. A certain “Threefold Articles of Shepherding” will be cultivated within you, before, and well beyond, your incardination: 1) Love, which is God Himself, proceeding from the Heart, being irresistible as Grace to everyone, working to share all that is good and to teach selflessly; 2) Self-Sacrifice, so that hard work, self-control, patience, and one’s saintly endurance of everyday persecution, grief, loss, or disaster, will sanctify you and construct invisible walls of joy and a roof of permanence over the true Church; 3) Exemplary Fatherhood, by which every upright Seed of Abraham brings Christ to the eyes, hearts, and ears of the sheep, who need guidance, deliverance from evil, as they choose to attain Salvation.
